Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance

The World’s Rarest Dictionary project (“Website”) has been developed and is supplied by Ipsen Pharma SAS, with an address 65 Quai Georges Gorse, 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt, France (hereafter, together with its affiliates, referred to as “Ipsen”).  Your access to and use of the Website is subject to the following Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws. By accessing the Website you accept, without limitation or qualification, these Terms and Conditions. This Website is intended for individuals 18 years or older.

2. About the Project

The World’s Rarest Dictionary is a project that aims to encourage others to listen, understand and reflect on the experiences of people affected by rare diseases. From those who actually live with a rare disease, to their family and friends, caregivers and researchers working across these areas.

We aim to do this with the creation of new words by the rare disease community (including patients, patient organizations, academics, researchers, family members, carers and healthcare teams) and, eventually, an entire dictionary – The World’s Rarest Dictionary – as a home for these words and their definitions.

3. Use of Content

The content on this Website is provided for informational purposes and is not meant to be a medical opinion, a diagnosis or a substitute for advice provided by qualified healthcare professionals. You should consult a qualified healthcare provider if you have or suspect you have any health problems.

There are two kinds of content on this site: User Generated Content and Ipsen Content.  User Generated Content are the words, definitions, and sentences that Website users submit to the Website for use in this project.  Ipsen Content is all other content on the Website.  When unmodified, the word “content” means both Ipsen Content and User Generated Content.

3.1 Rules for Use of Ipsen Content

You may not distribute, modify, transmit, reuse, repost, or use any of the Ipsen Content on the Website for commercial purposes, and should assume that everything you see or read on this Website is protected by copyright unless otherwise noted, and may not be used except as provided in these Terms and Conditions.  Other than your access of Ipsen Content to use this Website, no license to or right in the Ipsen Content, or any copyright of Ipsen or of any other party is granted or conferred to you.

3.2 Rules for Use of User Generated Content (words, definitions and sentences)

You may distribute, modify, transmit, reuse, repost, or use User Generated Content on the Website, provided, however, that you may not sell User Generated Content that was developed by someone other than by you.  This means there is a limited license to any User Generated Content that you did not create.  Ipsen will also follow these rules for User Generated Content.

3.3 Rules of Use for all Content

Ipsen neither warrants nor represents that your use of materials or content displayed on the Website will not infringe rights of third parties not owned by or affiliated with Ipsen.

This Website may contain or reference proprietary content, technologies, products, processes or other proprietary rights of Ipsen and/or other parties. No license to or right in any such trademarks, patents, trade secrets, technologies, products, processes and other proprietary rights of Ipsen and/or other parties is granted to or conferred upon you.

4. Disclaimer of warranties

While Ipsen uses reasonable efforts to ensure that the content contained in the Website is accurate and up to date, such content may contain inaccuracies or typographical errors. Ipsen reserves the right to make changes, corrections and/or improvements to the content at any time without notice. Ipsen makes no warranties or representations as to the accuracy of any of the content and assumes no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions in the content of the Website.

ALL CONTENT IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” IPSEN PROVIDES NO WARRANTIES ABOUT THE COMPLETENESS OR ACCURACY OF THE CONTENT ON THIS WEBSITE OR ITS POSSIBLE USES. CONSEQUENTLY, THE CONTENT SHOULD BE CAREFULLY EVALUATED BY USERS BEFORE USE. YOU MAY USE THIS CONTENT AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IPSEN, ANY OTHER IPSEN GROUP COMPANY, AND ANY OTHER PARTY INVOLVED IN CREATING, PRODUCING OR DELIVERING THIS WEBSITE TO YOU DISCLAIM ANY WARRANTIES OR LIABILITY FOR ANY DIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ACCESS TO, USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THIS WEBSITE, OR ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN THE CONTENT OF THE WEBSITE.

Ipsen also assumes no responsibility, and shall not be liable for, any damages to, or viruses that may infect, your equipment or other property inflicted by your access to, or use of, the content.

5. Content you supply

Except for information covered by the Privacy Policy, if such a policy is applicable, any User Generated Content, communication, or material you transmit to the Website, including any data, questions, comments, suggestions or the like is, and will be treated as, non-confidential and non-proprietary.

  • Due to the highly regulated industry in which we operate, we may not be able to publish all submissions.
  • Words and definitions relating to investigational therapies or treatments will not be published or considered for inclusion in the World’s Rarest Dictionary.
  • Please make sure that the words you submit are your own. Ipsen is not responsible for third-party copy.
  • Please be respectful of others, and do not submit vulgar or profane language, personal attacks, threats, or discriminatory language as User Generated Content.

6. Consequences

If Ipsen becomes aware that you have violated any of the Terms and Conditions contained herein, it may immediately take corrective action, including preventing the user from using the Website, at any moment and without notice. If Ipsen has been affected or injured by your violation it may, in its sole discretion, seek to recover damages from you.
